I realy don`t have much luck here. The combination didn`t work out so well.
I realized that right after the downhill race in which I was a hefty four
seconds behind which was shocking for me, to say at least.
All that was still managable until that “lethal vertical”, but that`s when
bad luck struck.
I was skiing so fast that I could have broke trough to the fourth place, but
it just didn`t work out this time. I went for all or nothing, realy pushing
myself to the max, but sometimes things just don`t work out the way we want…
Downhill was canceled today which I think was best for the competitors.
There is a lot of talk about safety lately, but It`s still not reaching
levels as it should regarding the world cup.
Comments and complaigns from competitors are still not considered to the full
extend. The risks are huge, race schedule is intense and we all want best
results, breaking our backs to squeeze out our max to reach our dream, but
it`s easy to say that dreams already ended for some this season.
The sad thing is that the program ant venues of the events are usualy
determined by people that don`t realy ask themselves what this means for the
racers and their teams who have to cope with all that as best as they can.
Exhaustion and so called jet lag are hardly ever considered, although they
represent a great trouble.
I think that there is much better organization even in sports that are
considerably less risky than skiing.
My suggestion is that we look up to tennis. Main events are carefully planned
at exactly determined time, dates and venues. There are also diferent rules
when competitors change continetns, etc…

Tomorow is the last race before we are hedding home. I would be very happy
if I could return from this long and exhausting tour with rankings among first
three in super G. Anyway, we will have to wait until morning.

Keep the thumbs up for me!

Best regards to all!

Tina :)

And it realy happened! … Exactly what I`ve expected. The good crime! :) First time this
season that I`ve climbed the winner stand in giant slalom. I am very pleased that the
curvature is rising. Now that the string of good results is constant and the realy hard
“ice” is broken I can relax a bit more when I`m racing.
I`m also very happy about slalom and I am going for the first 15. ranks next time!
Boy is that gonna be great! I needed three slaloms to progress among first 30. ranks, which
is already a great sucess for me. Having more that 400 points ( by FIS regulations ) gives
me the right to start after the first 15. Summer trainings are paying off and the trouble
we went trough, because we pushed ourselves although we were very tired, were not in vein.

Right now I`m looking forward to two days of well earned rest… My muscles are begging me
to take them somewhere warm, maybe sauna or a pool, so they can stretch on their own and not
by my dictation. They did very good lately and they realy deserve it!

The next destination is Val d` Isere!

… I will be in touch!
Talk to you soon from the scene of last years world cup!

Best regards to all!

How are you all doing? I`m great, thanks!

I finally found some time to pour my words on a … computer – I was gonna say paper, but
I can`t. I like paper more then this typing. But OK, I must inform my faithfull fans every
now and then.

We made it to Europe and although we are most further north and realy far from Slovenia, I
think I feel more at home here. Sweden is our next big goal, where I hope we will commit
some “great crime”. It`s obvious In what way.

Canada is behind us and I can say that it was only partially sucessfull. I could have done
more, but then again, we had trouble since the beginning of the US tour. Well it wans`t all
that bad as they portraited it over the media. It`s true that I had problems in the second
downhill, but I was unpleasantly surprised because the critic was so instant, not like with
other competitors, who get credit for only mediocre performance. I think that`s not fair
to us who realy devote ourselves to the max. And by the way – one race doesn`t realy mean
so much, so it`s not the end of the world.

Two realy hellish weeks are now behind me and my team, full of bad accusations, while we
were realy trying to perform at our best and that is something I can`t accept gladly.
Sport career is usually webbed with ups and downs and we just have to learn to live with it.
… And how did you cope with gossip in school. Yes, you know what I`m talking about …
You got criticised sometimes too, but it was usually from your mum and dad, right?
Well in my case is quite the opposite – My parents support me, while the media and reporters
criticize. Fufff! I`m only glad that I have a strong team behind me who a supportive and
comforting in good and tough moments.

As for the globe – keep on dreaming with me! The girls are very strong this year and to win
the globe would only be a dream. I`m very pleased that I`m at the top of the rankings, but
there is still a long way until the end of the season. Current 4th position enspires me and
gives me motivation to progress even harder and higher, but the most important goal is still
the winter olympics!

I will need to focus even more this weekend. The last two trainings in sweden gave me a lot
of confidence and faith in myself. I was scared for a moment because of my clumsiness during
the first day of training, which was caused by so called “jet lag”, but things soon
returned to normal and European pace will be in my blood for sure until the race beggins.
Ore is the place of my last sovereign victory and I start to glow every time I remember that
vibrant day of the last race of the season. Oh how nice it would be to do it all over again …

I hope you are behind me and that this wish realy comes true!

Best regards to all!

Tina :)
