Fight until the end! That was my slogan at the finals in Germany.
Season was successful and my last victory is historic. I have beaten three German girls
on their ” playfield” for just a few hundredths of a second. They were finally on my
side. In slalom I progressed for more than 300 positions and closed the season among the
first intensity group.

At the Olympics, I won 2 silver medals. I am the fourth skier in the world in total and
the third giant slalom. This is significant information about my season.
And it`s awesome!

But the one fact that I can`t get pass with ease were the minuses that happened, which
spoiled my feelings, joy and peace of mind quite many times.

I can speak about this issue most objectively, because I know the whole deal in details
and I also felt it on my own back. Unfortunately no one else knows all the things the
incidents.

I do not want to excessively warm up those things that deteriorate the purity of sport,
because I want the sport to stay clean, but to me, it still seems very important to
recognize that these things exist because that is the only way that we can protect
ourselves. ‘These things’ drained a lot of energy and nerves from Andrea, Andre, Juri and
myself, so now that the season is over I can safely say that we were totally tired of
failed negotiations before the season even started…

… And it was a loooooong season!

And that is just why is so hard to find that right energy at the end of the season, which
we spent trying to fight trough the season on such high levels.

But the head any body are regenerating and mine will also. So for everybody that saw me
realy tired at the end of the season, please dont worry too much. This is professional
sport and some deal with it better than others. If I look at the girls in the caravan,
all I can say is, tha we are all diferent from each other and the training conditions are
not the sam also, so it would be unjust to label competitors, without knowing the whole
background.

As a fun flick I can tell you that my body was burning reserves like crazy in the last
week. You all probably experienced muscle “twitching” at some point … That was happening
to me every day for the last ten days. My eye was twitching ten days all the time.
My muscles were also shouting, but luckily in shorter intervals. I was worryed at first,
because it did not stop, but then it slowly faded and than finaly stopped.

Either way, the season ended.

Organizer of the final races took good care of the traditional season closing party,
despite the sloppy organization. Every year most of the racers that we meet every day
during the season gather at the “Audi party”. This meeting is always something
unforgettable and it ads a very relaxing note to the whole tense atmosphere troughout the
season.

Now is the time to relax, to exxxhaaale, and take a deeeeeeeeeeeeeep breath.
And then I hope I will see you again!

I would like to wholeheartedly thank to all those that stand beside me. I would not last
without your support! Thank you for all congratulations and encouraging words. Sometimes
it realy moves me to tears. Thanks to all my loyal fans, those who are always following
me at matches and those that follow matches from somwhere else. I can honestly say, that
nothing brings me more joy, than the moment when we can all start shouting together! Those
are the unforgettable moments, full of energy and I truly wish that they will never end!

Have a nice spring!

It was nice. I enjoyed it. What a journey and all of the days days. Since i got back I
practicaly didn`t even have enough time to take a deep breath and gather all the feelings.
But things are rolling on … I am a bit tired – well how could I not be, with such tough
race schedule.

The season started with very intense pace, the olympics were extremely hard and there
are still very important races ahead for me for overall standings in solo disciplines.
The third place is still open and I also need one first place position in this season.

Anyway, despite our great sucess in the olympic, we are fighting on with all our strenght.
Linsey and Maria seem like some kind of ” machines “, but I feel I am not that far away
myself. One step further is all I need and reserves are still there. I like that!
Just like I like to say what lies in my soul! …

IIIIIIIIIHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Be positive, even if things look negative!

Best regards to all!

30. January 2010

Its has been quite some time since I have written my last blog, but please
do not blame me because the pace of racing and trainings has been too serious
for me to be able to write exactly where we are and what is happening.

At this moment I am in St. Moritz, standing in front of a large, powerful door
that are raising feelings of curiosity, fear, but yet filling me with courage,
and dedication. This door is already known to me, but they were never colored
in such way.

Yes, I am afraid to step through them.
Season, which is taking place is full of climbs and falls. I haven`t yet been
able to win. I know, I have the capacity, but no. I did not realize my full
potential in the giant slalom.
I am not accustomed to the things, that are happening to me lately, so this
season is full of surprises.

Slalom! First on the Podium in the slalom. Now really I can realy say that I`m
a versatile skier! HOORAY!

In terms of results, it feels like I`m on some kind of a ‘rollercoaster ride’,
just like the ones they have in amusement parks, so the route is always taking
me and my uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuup and dooooooooooooooown.
…. And I don`t need to explain which way it goes faster. Indeed, the curves
are more interesting, then just a straight line . Well I must say that I kind
of expected such unfolding of events, but it still takes a lot more effort to
keep the curves going up, then keeping them straight.

But, regardless of my curent capacity, I found myself before this door …
The door of the Olympics! … Is the road behind them winding,… is it going
down… or is it going up for me? … Well, I don`t know, but I keep my eyes
open! I am expecting everything! … Let the doors open!

Let the Olympic flame propell my blood!

Good luck and keep up with me!

19. December 2009

I realy don`t have much luck here. The combination didn`t work out so well.
I realized that right after the downhill race in which I was a hefty four
seconds behind which was shocking for me, to say at least.
All that was still managable until that “lethal vertical”, but that`s when
bad luck struck.
I was skiing so fast that I could have broke trough to the fourth place, but
it just didn`t work out this time. I went for all or nothing, realy pushing
myself to the max, but sometimes things just don`t work out the way we want…
Downhill was canceled today which I think was best for the competitors.
There is a lot of talk about safety lately, but It`s still not reaching
levels as it should regarding the world cup.
Comments and complaigns from competitors are still not considered to the full
extend. The risks are huge, race schedule is intense and we all want best
results, breaking our backs to squeeze out our max to reach our dream, but
it`s easy to say that dreams already ended for some this season.
The sad thing is that the program ant venues of the events are usualy
determined by people that don`t realy ask themselves what this means for the
racers and their teams who have to cope with all that as best as they can.
Exhaustion and so called jet lag are hardly ever considered, although they
represent a great trouble.
I think that there is much better organization even in sports that are
considerably less risky than skiing.
My suggestion is that we look up to tennis. Main events are carefully planned
at exactly determined time, dates and venues. There are also diferent rules
when competitors change continetns, etc…

Tomorow is the last race before we are hedding home. I would be very happy
if I could return from this long and exhausting tour with rankings among first
three in super G. Anyway, we will have to wait until morning.

Keep the thumbs up for me!

Best regards to all!

And it realy happened! … Exactly what I`ve expected. The good crime! First time this
season that I`ve climbed the winner stand in giant slalom. I am very pleased that the
curvature is rising. Now that the string of good results is constant and the realy hard
“ice” is broken I can relax a bit more when I`m racing.
I`m also very happy about slalom and I am going for the first 15. ranks next time!
Boy is that gonna be great! I needed three slaloms to progress among first 30. ranks, which
is already a great sucess for me. Having more that 400 points ( by FIS regulations ) gives
me the right to start after the first 15. Summer trainings are paying off and the trouble
we went trough, because we pushed ourselves although we were very tired, were not in vein.

Right now I`m looking forward to two days of well earned rest… My muscles are begging me
to take them somewhere warm, maybe sauna or a pool, so they can stretch on their own and not
by my dictation. They did very good lately and they realy deserve it!

The next destination is Val d` Isere!

… I will be in touch!
Talk to you soon from the scene of last years world cup!

Best regards to all!
